Day 3 - roller-coaster ride out of Devon

Today was Yellow Jersey day ;) 10 canaries flying down the A-roads must have been a sight. Also joined by Chris Daniel, a friend of Jaynes.

They said Day 3 would be easier, they said there were less hills, they said the worst was done - THEY BL00DY LIED !!

Woke up feeling nausea (either lack of sleep, lack of breakfast or a dodgy pint of Old Rosie ;)) - managed to vomit twice, walk up 3 or 4 hills, swallowed a few flies and it rained most of the first etape - all-in-all a great morning !!
Head was completely in the shed.

A few more mishaps today, another puncture for Lance and some scary brake failure for Jayne helped to further dampen spirits.

The afternoon - much better ! The hills did finally disappear and strategic decisions to skip the cycle paths worked in our favour - I'm sure I cracked out a smile at one point ! Some good chain-ganging from the Cycle4MND peloton this afternoon!!!!

Another psychological boost was saying good riddance to Devon and hello to Somerset ! Two counties conquered !

Another bonus was we managed to squeeze in a Sunday roast before retreating to our resting place for the evening - another YHA.

A lot more cleaner than yesterday's but the view from my bed is currently not a pretty one !! "Gospel" in his kegs trying to negotiate the bedding (did contemplate posting a photo but no one deserves to be subjected to that!).

Not gonna lie to you - our room stinks ;)

Tomorrow will be a good day, will see the family and get to crash in some luxurious accommodation ;) A long day though, so mentally preparing for another marathon in the saddle. We cross the Severn Bridge too so back into Gods Country for a short while ;)

I'd like to say we're nearly there - but we're not ! But a step closer at least.

Miles covered today approx 78. Stages 7,8 & 9 chalked off.
